The winter season is a wonderful time to celebrate with music! Mallonee has written many a cappella pieces suitable for winter concerts. All of these are available directly from the composer (preferred) or through J.W. Pepper.
The Carolers At My Door, written when Mallonee was 14 years old, was named the winner of a national Christmas carol contest on “A Prairie Home Companion.”
Hodie/Today on Earth, which combines the “Hodie Christus Natus Est” antiphon with original words and music, was commissioned in 2012 by “A Prairie Home Companion.”
O Gift of Glorious Sunrise was written for the Vocális Chamber Choir and was premiered in Buffalo, NY in 2015.
Snow Globe Upon a Sill is a New Year’s piece that was premiered by the Fairfax Choral Society in December, 2021.
A Star for a Wish is a solstice piece, depicting two stargazers during the pandemic observing the Great Conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter that occurred on December 21, 2020. It was premiered by Vocalis Chamber Choir in 2021.
